Time and work

If a person can do a piece of work in n days, the person can complete (1/n)th of the whole work in one day and (k/n)th of the whole work in k days (k<n).

If 'A ' can do a piece of work in m days and 'B ' can do the same piece of work in n days and A worked for 3 days and B worked for 2 days the portion of work finished is {(3/m)+(2/n) } th of the whole work.

Equate it to 1 if the whole work has been finished or (1/4) if only a quarter of the work has been finished and so on.

If A is twice as good as B, ratio of work done by A : work done by B is 2:1 , and

ratio of time taken by A : time taken by B is 1:2
